is thread. is good luck. Some scholars take the latter to act phonetically to express entwine, giving entwine threads and thus join them. Others take it to lend its early meaning of lidded container, giving bind lid on container. It may in fact combine both phonetic and semantic roles, giving bind lid on container by entwining it with thread. End/conclusion is an associated meaning, as in the English term tie up. Suggest taking as samurai and mouth .
