Data Loss in External Mac Hard Drive When you Change Partition Scheme

In Mac OS X, Time Machine is a powerful and advanced backup tool, that was first introduced in Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. It is designed to work with Time Capsule. It create incremental and secure backup of all sorts of files, which can be restored when required. Time Machine allows you to restore entire system, several files or even a single file. The backup can be created on external as well as internal hard drive and thus helps you to avoid the requirements of Mac File Recovery in case of system failure and data loss.

In order to create backup of your critical data on external storage media like hard drive, this is required that the drive must be formatted with the HFS+ file system, which has journaling enabled. However, when the hard drive uses Master Boot Record (MBR) partition types, problems might occur.

Exchange hard drives, which use the MBR partition type, do not support the storage more than 10 Gigabyte (GB) with Time Machine backup tool. Thus, if this backup tool is being used to create backup of data on such external hard drives, backup process might stop after 10 GB. If the data gets lost when the drive stops backing up data when it exceeds 10 GB size limit, you can not use it for recovery purpose. In these circumstances, you would have to go for Mac Recovery Software solutions to retrieve lost data.

To configure your external Mac OS X hard drive to properly backup your valuable and business critical data, you are required to change the partition type on the drive that is supported by the Time Machine, and thus format the drive. You should properly backup all of your critical data, before you proceed to the hard drive formatting. If you do not create backup and format the drive, you might come across serious data loss situations. In such cases, Mac File Recovery software come for your help.

These applications employ efficient and advanced hard drive scanning techniques to search, locate and recover lost data in most of the circumstances. With self-descriptive and interactive user interface, these applications are quite easy to use and thus do not demand sound and prior technical skills. These Mac Data Recovery are complete safe due to read only and non destructive conduct.

Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery is the most advanced and efficient application to provide absolute recovery in the majority of data loss situations. It supports recovery from HFS, HFS+, HFSX, HFS Wrapper and FAT file system volumes. This software is designed for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, 10.4 Tiger and 10.3.9 Panther
