Acceptance of entries starts June 15 and online viewing and popular voting of all submissions will start after the deadline on September 15. We encourage everybody to participate!

Here it is, the most-awaited announcement of our essay-writing contest winner!

The best essay as judged by our panel is Entry no. 00311009, "Waiting to Exhale: Filipino Nationalism in the Age of Globalization", submitted by Ms. Leah Victoria T. Carada.

The most popular essay as ranked by our online readers is Entry no. 00273108, "The Evolution of Filipino Nationalism," submitted by Ms. Joy Lepardo.

Philippines Today Online will award the prize of JPY10,000 to the most popular essay as ranked by our online readers!

The rules are simple: To be qualified, each entry needs a minimum of 50 votes, and a point average of at least 6.0. The highest pointer will be the winner. However, in case that the most popular essay also happens to be the winning entry in our main category, we will award the prize to the next highest pointer.
