SAN JOSE, Antique, July 28 (PNA) -– For Antique Vice Governor Edgar Denosta and Provincial Board Member Errol Santillan, President Benigno Aquino III accomplished much during the past five years of his administration and thus deserves good grades.
Vice Governor Denosta said there are massive infrastructure projects all over the country and here in Panay Island, there are many road widening projects in many sections of the national roads especially in Iloilo City and Iloilo province as well as in the provinces of Aklan and Capiz.
“We see billions of pesos worth of projects being implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Aside from the kilometers upon kilometers of roads, there are also many bridges that are being widened or repaired,” Denosta said.
A civil engineer by profession whose family has been in the construction business for a long time, Denosta noticed the reforms being implemented in the DPWH geared towards eliminating graft and corruption.
“There’s much difference now in the implementation of projects in the DPWH. I see the sincerity of Secretary Singson and the leadership of the agency,” the vice governor stressed, adding that if he is to give a rating for the President, he would not hesitate to give a high of 85 percent.
On the other hand, Provincial Board Member Santillan said he expected President Aquino to narrate lengthily his performance considering that it’s his last SONA.
He said he expected the Chief Executive to mention in his long speech the Mamasapano incident and the country’s rift with China on the West Philippine Sea.
“I trust that he will do what he said that he doesn’t want his successor to have problems when he or she takes over next year,” Santillan said. (PNA)
