MANILA, July 27 (PNA) — President Benigno S. Aquino III on Monday said the government generated premium revenue totaling Php64.1 billion after bidding out its public-private partnership (PPP) projects.
“Suma-total, ang primang natanggap natin mula sa mga kumpanyang katuwang sa PPP umabot na sa Php64.1 billion na napupunta naman sa kaban ng ating bayan,” the President said during his sixth and last State-of-the-Nation Address (SONA).
President Aquino said the government has so far awarded 10 projects, bidding out 13 projects while 27 projects that are still in the pipeline.
“Dati wala nakikisali sa proyekto. Ngayon, nag uunahan na mga pribadong kumpanya at nagbibigay ng premium,” he said.
The Chief Executive believed that every successful PPP project will boost confidence which can speed up the implementation of other needed infrastructure projects.
He urged project parties to implement PPP projects in compliance with the law.
(PNA)
