MANILA, July 6 (PNA) — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on Monday said that as of 12 nn, a total of 675 passengers have been stranded in ports due to tropical storm ”Egay”.
On its official Facebook account, PCG said that those stranded included 53 vessels, and 31 motor bancas.
PCG Units ensure the strict implementation of guidelines on the movement of vessels during heavy weather.
A breakdown of those stranded include:
Coast Guard District Central Visayas
CGS Cebu – 440 passengers, 38 vessels, and 18 motor bancas
CGS Dumaguete – 8 passengers
Coast Guard District North Eastern Luzon
CGS Aparri – 37 passengers, 1 vessel, and 10 motor bancas
Coast Guard District Bicol
CGS Sorsogon – 139 passengers, and 1 vessel
CGS CamSur – 20 passengers
CGS Masbate – 1 motor banca
Coast Guard District Palawan
CGS Puerto – 10 passengers, and 9 vessels
CGS Coron – 21 passengers, and 1 vessel
Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog Luzon
CGS Batangas – 3 vessels, and 2 motor bancas
CGS Romblon – 3 vessels, and 2 motor bancas (PNA)
