MANILA, May 26 (PNA) — The Department of Justice (DOJ) is expected to decide this week on the third batch of the priority development assistance fund (PDAF) scam cases which is currently being investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
Justice Secretary Leila M. De Lima said they will meet again with Justice Undersecretary Jose Justiniano on Thursday to make the final decision on the third batch of PDAF scam cases.
However, De Lima could not yet say whether the names which are surfacing, who are allegedly included in the third batch of individuals to be charged in connection with the PDAF scam, will be excluded from the list.
De Lima said that the DOJ and the NBI are also taking into consideration the effect in the complaint to be filed of the findings that the signatures of some former lawmakers, including Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Joel Villanueva, were allegedly forged on some of the documents gathered as evidence.
Some of the basis used by the NBI in their investigation into the PDAF scam are the audit report of the Commission on Audit (COA) and the sworn-affidavits of the whistleblowers. (PNA)
