CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, May 6 (PNA) — The House of Representatives will vote for the approval of the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) next week, a lawmaker here said Wednesday.
Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, of Cagayan De Oro City, said that the committee assigned to conduct public hearings about the BBL has already completed its job.
Rodriguez, chair of the BBL committee in the House of Representatives, said that the BBL committee has initiated 48 public hearings in various areas in Mindanao.
“The public hearings on BBL were done in public schools, public covered courts in various municipalities, cities, and provinces in Mindanao,” he said.
He said that the committee has completed its job and would submit the proposed BBL to the plenary on Monday for approval.
Rodriguez said that some provisions of the BBL, which are deemed “unconstitutional” would be subject of the amendment of deletion during the plenary session.
He said it is very important to amend or delete the unconstitutional provisions so that the proposed BBL in order to avoid being contested on the Supreme Court. (PNA)
