ILOILO CITY, March 31 (PNA) — Thirteen women were honored in a simple ceremony Tuesday as Outstanding Women of Capiz in time for the observation of Women’s Month this year.
Atty. Mark Borres, founder of the Borres Youth Leadership Institute (BYLI), launched the first-ever Search for Outstanding Women of Capiz which aims to give due recognition to women for their contribution and performance in their respective field, career or profession as well as services provided to the community.
Given honors in their respective categories were Mayor Ethel Ginon for public service and governance; Dr. Editha Magallanes, education; Judge Juliana Azarraga, law and justice; SPO2 Donna Asmod, police and military; Ana Mae Belasoto, health and medicine; Victoria Ong-Banzon, business and commerce;
Joy Villaruz-Bisnar, banking and finance; Cynthia Besana, community service; Angeline Alvares, youth development; Remedios Denosta, religious; Sylvia Dela Cruz, agriculture; Cheryl Ann Del Rosario, arts and culture; and, Yvette Barbara Almalbis-Honasan, music and entertainment. (PNA)
