MANILA, Sept. 18 (PNA) — As of 3:00 p.m. Thursday, some 159 seagoing passengers were stranded by Tropical Storm “Mario” in ports located in Southern Luzon and the Visayas, the Philippine Coast Guard reported.
The number of stranded passengers were broken down into: 73 in Cebu; 46 in Albay; and 40 in Catanduanes.
The Coast Guard added that 18 ships were prevented from leaving port — 17 ships in Cebu and one in Albay.
While the number of rolling cargoes immobilized by the inclement weather totaled to 35 — or 16 in Cebu; six in Albay and 13 in Catanduanes. (PNA)
