CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, March 18 (PNA) — The provincial government and the local government units (LGUs) have formulated a systematic destination itinerary that features established tourist spots in the province which will be used by the travel agencies for their tour packages.
Arwin Paul Lingat, chief of the Arts, Culture and Tourism Office of Pampanga (ACTOP), said the initiative is part of the efforts to boost the local tourism industry.
“Pampanga has much to offer for local and foreign tourists. It should not only be the hotels, golf courses, and restaurants in Clark. We have historical places and old churches worth visiting. We have shops and centers that house the best foods, arts and handicrafts in the province,” Lingat said.
He said the prepared itinerary is a whole-day-trip with four destinations that highlighted towns and places in the province that are ready for tourism activities.
“There are tourism destinations in the province but some of them are on the process of development. The itinerary includes those established and tourism-ready,” he said.
The proposed destinations are as follows: first destination – San Guillermo Paris Church (Bacolor), church museum, mall pasalubong center / Cabalantian products and painting/ exhibit; second destination – Santiago Mayora Parish Church (Betis, Guagua), church museum, Betis crafts centers (special arrangement), guitars, wood carvings, chicharon centers;
Third destination – Sta. Rita de Casia Parish Church (Sta. Rita), church relic, delicacies center, old houses tour and Arti Sta. Rita special performances and fourth destination – San Agustin Parish Church (Lubao), church relic tour, sampaguita production centers and Diosdado Macapagal museums.
