* Nanganak na si Sunshine Cruz nung September 23 ng isang baby girl na papangalanang Angelina Isabelle. Unang baby ito ni Sunshine sa asawang si Cesar Montano samantalang pang-apat na anak na ito ni Cesar.

* May sakit na cancer sa lymph nodes si Patricia Borromeo, ang socialite na dating girlfriend ni Richard Gomez. Kasalukuyan nag-che-chemotherapy treatment si Patricia habang patuloy na nagtratrabaho sa isang exclusive na pre-school kung saan dati siyang nagtuturo. Mataas ang chances of recovery sa sakit na ito (ang singer na si Chad Borja ay dati nag-karoon nito pero naka-recover ng 100% pagkatapos ma-operahan) pero ayaw magpa-interview ni Patricia hangga't hindi siya tuluyang magaling.

* Inalok daw si Ruffa Gutierrez na mag-pose sa Playboy - US Edition nung nakaraang taon pero tinanggihan ng dalaga dahil bukod sa maliit ang offer (US$ 50,000) ay hindi raw nito maatim na magpakuha ng nakahubad.

* Pagkatapos ma-annul ang kasal kay Geneva Cruz at ang pag-migrate sa US, si Paco Arrespacochaga ay magpapakasal na sa kanyang non-showbiz girlfriend na si Tiny Ambrosio.

* Nagdaos ng kanilang debut sina Kristine Hermosa at Aiza Seguerra. Samantalang very tradisyonal ang kay Kristine na dinaos sa Manila Polo Club, ang kay Aiza naman ay nagmistulang isang "waterfalls party" na dinaos sa Villa Escudero. *

Angelika invades Japan!

Born to a Filipino father and an Australian mother, 1999 Best Actress awardee Angelika invaded Japan in spring

this year. She entered the showbiz world by auditioning for the image character of Sailor Moon. From then on, her fame spread not only in her home country but also overseas, filling a 4000-seat concert hall in New York to capacity in a show topbilling her entitled "Young Divas of the Philippines" in March 1998.

"In My Dreams," her debut album in Japan, is the product of a collaboration between DJ Uraken, who is active in Tokyo's club scene, and Ben Escasa. Unlike her vocal-based albums in the Philippines, in this album she performs to Uraken's Club Music.

Her crystalline voice is perfect for R & B and love ballads, but she also shows equal flair for the kind of club music with an urban touch.

In her promotional tour of Japan in March this year, she appeared in NHK and Inter FM, among some of the media outfits she made a round of, and was favorably received.

Says Kishibe Kiyotaka, coordinator of Angelika's promotions in Japan, "At first, Angelika herself expressed apprehension at having a debut album that has a strong DJ flavor, but she did just wonderfully and is firming up her position as a vocal artist in Japan. As a child, Angelika often traveled to Japan with her mother, she likes Japan very much and has great enthusiasm for her job. I hope the Filipinos in Japan will also support her."

Ten years ago, Daiichi Production likewise handled the Japanese debut of the charismatic superstar Gary V, and is planning on a large-scale promotion of a second album. Everyone is looking forward to a big break in the media scene of upcoming star Angelika.
