WALANG MAISIP

HEAT WAVE (August 07, 2001)

Heat suffocating like a crab inside
The aluminum casserole yearning to get out
But can't … keep falling, submerged in the
Slowly boiling water, ripples of moist
Heat ready to scorch the shells we're born to.

Heat embracing the brownstones and concrete tenements
We now call abode, can't seem to
Flail from the encrouching ripples of
Global warming as fidgeting to wipe the
Newly formed product of excretion from my pores.

Sultry music to my soul dying to get
That heave of breathe, of cold draft to
Comfort the seemingly creeping hell on earth
Awhile the scenario reminds one of home
Awhile the fan oscillates in rhythmic rotation.
