Crisis shakes
the Philippine Catholic Church
IN THE WAKE of the sex scandal rocking
the Archdiocese of Boston in the U.S., which elicited
both reproach and condemnation from the Pope, the Philippine
Catholic Church has of its own accord ripped the curtain
to the inner sanctum of its priesthood, revealing not
only pots but also feet of clay.

Force
of freedom
It is enough that communist insurgents
and Muslim extremists continue to drive foreign investors
from our shores. It is worse that pea-brained snakes
wanting to grab power continue to surround Malacañang.

International

Cup fever
TIME really flies fast. Was it already
four years ago when I woke up at dawn, turned on the
tv and saw heavily favored Brazil losing to host France
in the World Cup final? I was then working in Singapore
- a football crazy little hub. Back in home country
four years hence, the buzz for World Cup Korea/Japan
within my sphere is practically zilch. The Filipino
culture is not keen on football.
